Belagavi has a wide range of scrumptious sweets and lip-smacking savouries that will surely tantalize your taste buds. Kunda, karadantu, mandige and ‘cycle’ khova are a must try for one visiting this historical city.
‘Cycle’ khova as the name suggests is khova that is sold by vendors on bicycles! This sinfully delicious sweet is surprisingly light on the stomach and is prepared from the thick milk that is available in abundance in this region and caramelized sugar. The recipe is a closely guarded secret and one can only propound the method of preparation.
These are sold in brass containers fixed onto bicycles. The vendor is very particular about the way this sweet is served and will measure each serving before serving it to you on a sal leaf plate.
